The original photo in this print is from a computer screen shot taken while reading about the funeral of North Korean dictator Kim Jung Il in 2011.
Inspiration came from the strikingly stark colors of the funeral procession, purely for graphic, apolitical reasons.
Snow covered concrete, black suits, green military jeeps, brass horns, colorful marching band flags and the red draped coffin create a large cross motif within the hard geometries of the square shape.
